The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Dual Cooperative Training Service Center (DCTSC) was organized the meeting to Promoting the Role of PCCIs in Employment and

Workforce Skills Development through Dual-Cooperative Training (DCT). on 25th to 26th June 2025, at the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), Vientiane Capital.

The meeting is to promote the role of provincial vocational education and training centers in employment, workforce skills development, vocational training and cooperation with development partners was chaired by Mr. Dr. Xaybandith Rasphone, the Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Anya Reder, Head of the VELA III Project, GIZ, and there are also attending by the chairmen, executive board director from provincial CCI, also the secretariat of LNCCI, experts from the project, (DCTSC), relevant divisions in LNCCI and DCTSC team was joint.

The objective of the workshop was to create an understanding of the DCT Concept process for the provincial steering committee and coordinators of the vocational education and training centers, to build relationships between enterprises and vocational education institutions, to plan vocational education and training dissemination activities and income -generating activities, and to continue to organize training for enterprise partners in the 11 participating provinces to provide provincial vocational education and training coordinators with an understanding of the concept of dual vocational education and training (DCT).

At the end of 2019, the Vocational Education Lao PDR (VELA III) and the Dual Cooperative Training Service Center (DCTSC) collaborated to establish a dual vocational education and training service center to support the business sector in planning, organizing and implementing dual vocational education and training. Through this linkage, enterprises will have opportunities for students to learn technical skills, knowledge and practical work attitudes, making enterprises have a better trained, productive and honest workforce, and also saving costs in recruiting and orienting new employees.

In order to continue to expand the activities of the DCT Service Center, it is necessary to have personnel who are knowledgeable, capable, and ready to provide information services and create understanding in the implementation of joint vocational education on DCT, to strengthen good relations between enterprises, vocational education institutions, groups, business associations and other development partners.

The LNCCI and provincial CCI have an important role to play not only as a focal point for specific project, but also to develop and expand cooperation both also domestically and internationally.
