The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), together with the Savannakhet Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), organized a training workshop for in-company trainers to promote quality of apprenticeships/ internships,

which took place from 27-28 November 2025, Savannakhet Province. Mr. Xaybandith Rasphone, Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Khamphao Phanthoulak, Vice President of the Savannakhet Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presided over the opening of the training. Representatives from the International Labour Organization (ILO) in the Lao PDR, Ms. Xian Guan, Project Manager from ILO Office for China and Mongolia, along with trainers, businesses within Savannakhet Province, and Provincial Chambers of Commerce and Industry from 04 southern provinces and 2 central parts participated.

This training is under the technical support of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the ILO-China Partnership Project on strengthen skills development through south-south triangular cooperation in the Lao PDR. Its objective is to focus on developing personnel to have higher quality, included upgrading the skills of newly graduated students, personnel, and workers in enterprises to have better quality.

The training participants comprised 53 businesses from various sectors, including: the transport sector with modern management systems, the mining sector, educational institutions, the service sector (guesthouses, hotels, restaurants, many important tourist attractions), manufacturing and modern industry sectors in the Savannakhet Special Economic Zone, discussed and exchanged experiences regarding the development of quality apprenticeship and lifelong learning in China with the ILO support , employer regulations for implementing quality apprenticeships, and the International Labour Organization Recommendation 208.

In addition, the participants also discussed future plans to strengthen enterprises, educational institutions, and related sectors to develop a skilled workforce with quality and to increase productivity to meet the standards required by the labor market, and to enable businesses to operate stably and sustainably.
