MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between LAO NATIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY and MEKONG INSTITUTE signing ceremony on 20 Jan 2020 at LNCCI

The MOU was signed by  Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Executive Vice President, Mr. Daovone PHACHANTHAVONG and Mekong Institute, Executive Director, Dr. Watcharas Leelawath

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Secretary General, Mr. Phouxay THEPPHAVONG and Mekong Institute, External Relations Manager, Ms. Pornwilai Pumira

LNCCI and MI (Parties, hereafter) will cooperate in selected areas of capacity building for regional development, cooperation and integration. Acknowledging each other’s strengths and expertise, both Parties may explore cooperation through, but will not be limited to, the following areas:

1. Co-organization, co-facilitation and/or promotion of LNCCI/MI activities, such as the Lancang-Mekong Business Forum, Lao Business Forum, structured learning visits, trade exhibitions, among others, in Lao PDR, Thailand or other GMS countries
2. Sharing of networks, contacts, databases, research studies and other forms of technical information to help strengthen the business environment in Lao PDR
3. Official dissemination of LNCCI/MI activities and events to a wider audience
4. LNCCI recommendation of qualified Lao PDR candidates to participate in MI-facilitated and/or hosted trainings and workshops to ensure equal representation of Lao PDR nationals in capacity building activities
5. Recommendation and facilitation of meetings and/or dialogues between LNCCI/MI representatives with other institutions, business groups and associations, among others, in Lao PDR, Thailand or other GMS and non-GMS countries to advance LNCCI/MI services
6. Pooling and exchange of LNCCI/MI resource speakers and business experts in LNCCI/MI activities to increase the sharing of best business practices and technical knowledge
