Capacity Building Workshop Enhances Curriculum Development for TVET Institutions and Enterprises
ientiane, Lao PDR– May 20, 2025 – A two-day capacity building workshop on Curriculum Development for Work-Based Learning (WBL) was successfully
conducted on 19-20 May 2025 at the Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane, bringing together 40 participants from government and private sectors. The event was co-chaired by Mr. Tingkham Soulintha, Deputy Director General of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE), Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), and Mr. Viboon Sithimolada, Board Director of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI).
Featuring expert lecturers from the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET), the workshop focused on enhancing skills in curriculum design for four priority sectors: Inventory Management, Customer Service, Machine Tools, and Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Repair. This initiative is part of the ASEAN-Swiss TVET Initiative (ASTI) Project, aimed at strengthening vocational education through industry-aligned training programs.
Participants gained practical insights to develop WBL curricula, ensuring workforce readiness and industry relevance. The event marks a key milestone in advancing TVET excellence in Laos.
