Vientiane, Lao PDR– June 25, 2025 –The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI)

and the Lao Sign Association convened a key meeting to discuss collaboration on Work-Based Learning (WBL) under the ASEAN-Swiss TVET Initiative (ASTI).

Mr. Phouxay Thepphavong, Secretary General of LNCCI, highlighted the essential role of the private sector in enhancing National Occupational Skill Standards to meet labor market demands.

Mr. Vongnam Vongvilay, President of the Lao Sign Association, voiced strong support and readiness to sign the WBL agreement and establish a training center in due course.

The meeting also reviewed a draft cooperation agreement, with both parties optimistic about formalizing the partnership soon. This collaboration aims to strengthen vocational education and equip Lao workers with industry-relevant skills, contributing to national workforce development and economic growth.
